Originally, this blog charted the journey of Ancho and Lefty from Bath County, Kentucky to Costa Rica in their trusty 1993 Toyota Pick-Up Truck lovingly known as Bessie. Ancho has returned to the USA to work and Lefty remains in Costa Rica finishing up her dissertation fieldwork. Soon, she will reunite with Ancho, who in her absence from home has taken up with seven women- Lefty's cat, Poe Poe Kitty, and six Red Star Hens.
The big pile of organic matter behind the little boy in the blue shirt are the beans we harvested off a steep hillside yesterday (see entry below). The man in the hat with the sticks is "beating" the beans. I thought you all might like to see just what I was talking about.

Ancho and Lefty are not registered trademarks. "Ancho" refers to a type of chili. "Lefty" does not refer to a proclivity to write with one hand or the other. Ancho remodels. Lefty anthropologizes.
