Tom Turkey- Tico Syle
Tom is a good-looking fella, and he knows it. He struts confidently around the campo, knowing he is not destined for an oven come Thanksgiving. He embodies Tom-turkiness. This Tom has got it made.
Originally, this blog charted the journey of Ancho and Lefty from Bath County, Kentucky to Costa Rica in their trusty 1993 Toyota Pick-Up Truck lovingly known as Bessie. Ancho has returned to the USA to work and Lefty remains in Costa Rica finishing up her dissertation fieldwork. Soon, she will reunite with Ancho, who in her absence from home has taken up with seven women- Lefty's cat, Poe Poe Kitty, and six Red Star Hens.

So, is there a harvest festival there? If so, what do they feast on?
Seasons, fruits and vegetables work on a different time table here close to the equator- such that there is not ONE harvest as we think of it. The two big holidays are Easter and Christmas--- with Easter traditionally being the biggest deal.... but with a good dose of Christmas commercialization, Old Saint Nick, Rudolph, and the gang are giving Easter a run for the money. Easter week people eat a lot of fish. For Christmas people eat pork.
People do eat turkey, but not frequently. It is not really associated with any holidays.
He's very stately.
I'm glad you're back and glad to see that you're going to continue this blog!
See you soon!
