Originally, this blog charted the journey of Ancho and Lefty from Bath County, Kentucky to Costa Rica in their trusty 1993 Toyota Pick-Up Truck lovingly known as Bessie. Ancho has returned to the USA to work and Lefty remains in Costa Rica finishing up her dissertation fieldwork. Soon, she will reunite with Ancho, who in her absence from home has taken up with seven women- Lefty's cat, Poe Poe Kitty, and six Red Star Hens.
Boquete was a great place to walk around- pretty, rocky rivers and nice, cool weather. It was a good way to update my visa and also spend time with Ancho before he returned to Gringoland.

Ancho and Lefty are not registered trademarks. "Ancho" refers to a type of chili. "Lefty" does not refer to a proclivity to write with one hand or the other. Ancho remodels. Lefty anthropologizes.
